What We Do

The primary goal of the Community Education Services Department (CESD) is to provide excellent customer service to the citizens of Lee County. Educating people on the importance and privilege of voting is key to the non-partisan services we offer. Those services include:


Voter Registration Drives

Voter Registration Drives provide people with a convenient and easy way to:

  • Register to vote in Florida for the first time 
  • Make updates/changes to an existing voter record
    • Name
    • Address
    • Party Affiliation
    • Signature
  • Request a Vote-by-Mail ballot

Voter Education Presentations

The staff of the Community Education Services Department (CESD) offers Voter Education Presentations to various audiences:

  • Assisted/Independent Living Facilities 
  • Colleges/Universities
  • Community groups
  • Churches
  • Elementary Schools
  • High Schools
  • Middle schools
  • Naturalization Ceremonies
     

Voter Education Presentations provide a wide array of valuable information, including:

  • Who qualifies to vote in the State of Florida?
  • The three (3) ways to vote in the State of Florida
  • Types of elections
  • Acceptable forms of ID when voting in person 
  • Information related to upcoming elections
