Census Redistricting and the Florida Senate in 2022

All Florida’s Senate districts will be up for re‐election in 2022.

Following the Florida Legislature's adoption of the new Senate redistricting boundaries and maps on February 3, 2022, the Senate districts in Lee County were renumbered and became districts 27, 28, and 33 (currently Districts 26, 27, and 28).

Until Senators are elected in the 2022 election cycle, Lee County continues to be represented by the Senators elected to districts 26, 27, and 28.

Because all of Florida's Senate districts are up for re-election, to allow for staggered terms, in the 2022 election cycle, odd‐numbered state Senate districts will have a 2-year term, and even-numbered districts will have a 4‐year term.

Immediately following the 2022 General Election on November 8, the elected Senators representing Lee County will take office in newly created and renumbered districts 27, 28, and 33.

Tommy Doyle, Supervisor of Elections, Lee County
